THE SILENT STRUGGLE OF MENOPAUSE: HORMONES, RELATIONSHIPS, AND HEALTH
Menopause can create a significant impact on women’s personal relationships and their work performance. Plagued with a long list of symptoms including brain fog, lack of clarity, low energy, and insomnia, they may begin to struggle with retention of information and daily work tasks. For millions of women battling menopause with no support to navigate their journey, it can become a “silent struggle.”
Unprepared when this “adversary” hits hard, their productivity often plummets. The challenge of navigating a career while facing the “unexpected” struggles of menopause is overwhelming.
As a Women’s Health Expert, my passion has always been to provide a teaching platform for women addressing the myths of menopause. It’s been almost a year now since the release of my book, “Restore Your Life: Powerful Life Strategies To Navigate Menopause.” The response has been overwhelming and heartwarming, yet there is still so much work to be done.
The purpose of the book was to share a little science with a step-by-step guide, tools, and resources. This interactive book guides the transition through menopause, encouraging women not to give up! There are answers; however, the solutions need to be tailored to their unique chemistry.
The confusion about what treatment options are best suited to each woman’s symptoms and medical history can become overwhelming. Is it safe to use Hormone Replacement Therapy? As a Pharmacist and Women’s Health Expert, I always felt the integrative route of natural supplements was best.
However, even that option needs to be a custom fit to each woman’s unique chemistry. There is no cookie-cutter solution. And this is the concern with Hormone Replacement Therapy—do all women need to be on the same medication? And what about the forgotten cortisol levels driving our blood sugar high and interfering with our sleep?
Ruth was very successful in her corporate career, confident in her ability to carry a heavy workload full of responsibility. Then menopause took over. Her anxiety escalated and her productivity declined. In desperation, she sought the advice of her physician. She was prescribed a heavy dose of anti-depressants and her anxiety lessened. But, the side effects kicked in, such as rapid weight gain. Disheartened, she approached her physician again and was told there were very limited choices.
Ruth’s story is not unique. Not only was her work life affected, she began to worry about her overall health. The question is where to begin. In my expertise, it all begins with the Saliva Hormone Test, which is the most accurate test of 5 hormone levels. No guessing! No assumptions!
