I understand the thought process as we think the New year will be a time for re-setting our new intentions to eat healthy, exercise and eliminate sugar. Reality is there is no better time to put our health first than NOW. There will always be an EXCUSE for going down the pathway of overeating and putting off reality. As I tell my clients there will always be another birthday, another anniversary, and another vacation….it seems endless.
What if we changed our mind set from overindulgence to portion control? From excuses to choices? From poor health to optimal health? From pre-diabetic to non-diabetic?
Last year one of my clients decided to start our Weight Release program December 1st! As shocked as I was, I was here to support her decision and create a framework of accountability. It really shifted my perspective to say to clients….”There is no perfect time to start except when your mindset is prepared for change”. One year later she has successfully taken 12 inches of her waist and 10 inches each of her chest and hips. Success! No excuses!
For some of us its all or nothing. My message is pick your “passion”…is it stuffing or a small sweetie?” Start now and take one step at a time with the understanding that everyday will not be perfect. However imagine starting the right pathway before the New Year by framing your intentions now. No excuses!
