As a Women’s Health Expert & Life-Coach my perception and understanding of weight release for women has certainly evolved over the last 10 plus years.
In the beginning it was all about DIET & DEPRIVATION to quickly hit the target weight…. unfortunately, there is no sustainability in this plan especially for women in menopause struggling with a volcanic eruption of hormone imbalance. As my clients would state “I have been down this road before” which creates a lot of fear of failure, let alone the negative emotional connection to getting on the scale the first time. Even Calorie Counting is great for awareness, yet low calories are not sustainable or realistic.
The goal is to frame this change in lifestyle as a “healthy choice” with many far-reaching benefits from balancing blood sugar to reaching optimal health. To accept this commitment with a “positive mind-set” and understanding the “WHY” behind these choices that nothing changes unless we make consistent change. That it is a long-term goal to provide your body with the support it craves.
Embracing the desire to get control back with the understanding that not every day will be perfect.
I believe mind-set and belonging to a community of like-minded women is key!
